PROJECT STORY
The social hall at St. Anthony Church in Zahraa El Maadi demonstrates CAT Egypt’s architectural woodwork beyond the sanctuary. The room is organized by a continuous timber envelope: paneled walls, arched openings, icon niches and a dramatic openwork ceiling system that spans the hall in repeated flowing geometries.
Lighting, chandeliers and religious artwork are integrated into the composition so that the woodwork reads as part of the architecture rather than applied decoration. The photographs also document ceiling and junction details, illustrating the level of coordination required to resolve the large patterned timber framework across the room.
