Specifying a Bespoke Kitchen

A considered kitchen specification connects daily use with material choices, appliance dimensions and a practical installation plan.

Plan around use before choosing a style

Map preparation, cooking, washing and storage around the household's routines. Consider how many people use the kitchen, how guests move through the space and which items must be within easy reach. Confirm the room dimensions, door and window positions and the location of services before fixing the cabinetry layout. These decisions provide the framework for the final visual design.

Specify construction at component level

A solid wood door does not describe the entire cabinet construction. Specify door and drawer fronts, cabinet bodies, shelves, interior finishes and hardware separately. Where veneers are used, record the timber species and intended grain arrangement. Approve physical samples for colour and sheen, and identify how adjacent cabinets and panels will align across the completed kitchen.

Resolve appliances and destination installation

Use the actual appliance models and manufacturers' dimensional requirements rather than nominal sizes. Confirm ventilation, access and the interfaces with worktops, plumbing and electrical services. For homes in the USA or Canada, agree the measurement and approval process with the destination team before manufacturing in Egypt. The quotation should identify delivery arrangements and who takes responsibility for final installation and adjustments.
